South Park House Fined $1,000
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $1,000 civil penalty against South Park House at 9322 W. 50th Terr., Merriam, for violating state adult care regulations. South Park House is a mental health facility.
KDHE staff inspected the facility on September 8, 11-15 and 18 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for protection of clients' rights. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
