City of Iola Agrees Upgrade Treatment Plant
The City of Iola has entered into a consent agreement with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The agreement requires the city to submit plans to upgrade its waste water treatment plant to KDHE by January 1, 2001.
A department review of the plant's discharge monitoring reports showed that the plant was not consistently meeting water quality limits established under its permit.
