KDHE Offers Training for Food Service Workers
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is putting food safety on the "front burner" by offering the latest training and educational information to food service workers. A newly-implemented food code is now in force in Kansas, and state and local food protection specialists want to make sure area restaurant employees are properly trained.
KDHE, the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association and local health officials will be offering training sessions at the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, 200 Maine St., Lawrence, from 9 - 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Issues covered will include:
The public expects a safe and enjoyable dining experience. KDHE wants to make sure restaurant operators and employees have all the information they need to serve safe meals in a sanitary food service environment.
