Chrome Plus International, Inc. Enters Consent Agreement with KDHE
Chrome Plus International, Inc., McPherson, has entered into a consent agreement with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to resolve violations of state hazardous waste regulations documented during a January 5, 1999 inspection.
In lieu of a $10,000 penalty, the agreement calls for Chrome Plus International, Inc. to pay one-half ($5,000) of the total penalty. KDHE will defer the second half of the penalty for a period of three years provided the firm conducts quarterly audits, corrects any area of non-compliance, submits reports to KDHE, and remains in substantial compliance for a period of three years.
The violation noted during the inspection was storing hazardous waste for over ninety (90) days without a permit. The facility had returned to substantial compliance with state regulations at the time the agreement was signed.
