A public hearing to discuss a proposed water pollution control permit has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 at the Agri-Business Building located at 712 W. Washington Ave. in Arkansas City.
FB Operations LLC is planning to construct a slaughterhouse and tannery operation at the Goff Industrial Park in Cowley County. If the proposed facility meets state requirements, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will decide whether or not to issue the wastewater permit based upon comments received during the public notice period through July 17 and at the hearing.
In order to give all parties an opportunity to present their views, it may be necessary to limit oral presentations to five minutes. It is recommended that parties provide the hearing officer with copies of written comments.
