United Methodist Home Fined $2,400
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $2,400 civil penalty against United Methodist Home, 1135 SW College Ave., Topeka, for violating state nursing home regulations.
KDHE staff inspected the facility on February 22-25 and March 2-3 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for quality of care. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
