Alzheimer's Center of Kansas City Fined $4,000
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $4,000 civil penalty against Alzheimer's Center of Kansas City, 6501 Greeley Ave., Kansas City, Kan., for violating state nursing home regulations.
KDHE staff inspected the facility on February 21-23, 25 and March 1-2 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for quality of care. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
