Cherryvale Care Center Fined $10,000
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $10,000 civil penalty against Cherryvale Care Center, 1001 W. Main St., Cherryvale, for violating state nursing home regulations.
KDHE staff inspected the facility on November 3-5 and 9-10 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for quality of care. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
