Valley Health Care Center Fined $2,500
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $2,500 civil penalty against Valley Health Care Center, 12th & Sycamore, Valley Falls, for violations of state nursing home regulations.KDHE staff inspected the facility on August 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7 and issued a correction order on September 8 citing the facility for failure to meet standards for general licensure. KDHE staff conducted a follow-up inspection on September 19, 22 and 23 that determined the deficiencies had not yet been corrected.
The department assesses a fine when a facility fails to correct the deficiencies by the second visit. Department surveyors continue to check the facility to ensure the deficiencies are corrected.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
