Manorcare Health Services Fined $9,600

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $9,600 civil penalty against Manorcare Health Services, 2515 S.W. Wanamaker Road, Topeka, for violating state nursing home regulations.

KDHE staff inspected the facility on September 9, 10, 11 and 12 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for quality of care. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.

The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
