Medicalodge of Fort Scott Fined $2,500

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $2,500 civil penalty against Medicalodge of Fort Scott, 915 South Horton,

Fort Scott, for violations of state nursing home regulations.

KDHE staff inspected the facility on July 7, 8, and 9 and issued a correction order on

August 4 citing the facility for failure to meet standards for quality of care. KDHE staff conducted a follow-up inspection on August 17, 18, 19, and 20 that determined the deficiencies had not yet been corrected.

The department assesses a fine when a facility fails to correct the deficiencies by the second visit. Department surveyors continue to check the facility to ensure the deficiencies are corrected.

The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
