Christ Villa Nursing Center Fined $400

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $400 civil penalty against Christ Villa Nursing Center, 1555 N. Meridian, Wichita, for violations of state nursing home regulations.

KDHE staff inspected the facility on August 20-22 and 25-26, and issued a correction order on September 15 citing the facility for failure to meet standards for quality of care. KDHE staff conducted a follow-up inspection on September 29 - October 1 that determined the deficiencies had not yet been corrected.

The department assesses a fine when a facility fails to correct the deficiencies by the second visit; or in some cases following the first. Department surveyors continue to check the facility to ensure the deficiencies are corrected.

The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
