Vintage Place Fined $1,000

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $1,000 civil penalty against Vintage Place, 1701 East Walnut Grove, Derby, for violations of state nursing home regulations.

KDHE staff inspected the facility on August 20 and 21 and issued a correction order on September 8 citing the facility for failure to meet standards for service agreement. KDHE staff conducted a follow-up inspection on September 15 that determined the deficiencies had not yet been corrected.

The department assesses a fine when a facility fails to correct the deficiencies by the second visit; or in some cases following the first. Department surveyors continue to check the facility to ensure the deficiencies are corrected.

The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
