February 28, 2001 - Barton County Fined $19,200 for Violations at Landfill The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has assessed a $19,200 civil penalty against Barton County for violations of state waste disposal regulations occurring at the county landfill.
February 27, 2001 - New Kansas State Solid Waste Management Plan Released The vision for the first decade of the twenty first century is one of stability and continued growth in recycling and composting, according to the new Kansas State Solid Waste Management Plan just released by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment this week.
