The KDHE wants young people to become advocates of proper solid waste management and to actively learn to preserve the natural resources of their state.
In developing a program aimed at kids, we took the advice of Kansas educators. Make environmental education fun, they said. And practical. And rewarding. And flexible. The result was the development of a Kansas Don't Spoil It! Activity Book, a curriculum guide designed specifically for students and teachers in Kansas elementary schools.
The book includes a variety of lessons and activities related to recycling, composting and other environmental-based topics specific to Kansas.
