If you open the dishwasher before the dry cycle, you'll conserve energy and add humidity to the air. Air-drying your dishes this way in winter will help lower your electric bill.
You can conserve energy and lower your electric bill by having your water heater insulated and setting the water temperature at 130 degrees or lower.
If you live in a multi-story home, you should set upstairs ceiling fans to the winter setting in summer. This will drive the cooler downstairs air up and keep the entire house cool while requiring less air conditioning.
During the winter, you should lower your house temperature by one degree for every hour you're away or asleep.
