Notice to Immunization Providers New Item
In an effort to create as many access points to vaccination as possible, state and local public health agencies will need to partner with private sector immunization providers to administer H1N1 vaccine. KDHE is extending the opportunity to receive and administer H1N1 vaccine to all interested immunizing healthcare providers (including hospitals, clinics, pharmacists and community vaccinators) once vaccine supplies are sufficient. Pre-registered facility representatives will receive email updates about the pandemic vaccination program and enrollment as well as information to prepare for storing, handling and administering H1N1 vaccine properly. To register your potential interest in the administration of H1N1 vaccine and receive more information, go to the H1N1 Vaccine Provider Pre-registration.

Thank you Immunization Poviders

=THANK YOU IMMUNIZATION PROVIDERS=

The Kansas Immunization Program would like to thank all of the Immunization Providers across the state for your commitment, dedication and perseverance in protecting Kansas Citizens.  Everyday providers like yourselves, whether it be Private, Public, Hospital or School based, help protect not only our 43,000 new babies born in Kansas each year from Vaccine Preventable Diseases, but also the adolescents and adults of Kansas alike.

Since 1995, you as providers have been the key in raising our 4:3:1:3:3 (4 DTaP, 3 Polio, 1 MMR, 3 Hib and 3 HepB) rates by just over 40%.   With your efforts, Kansas has risen from just under 36% in 1995 to 76% at the end of 2007!  This also places Kansas nearly at the national average of 77.4%.

As many of you know, 90% coverage is the Kansas goal for the year 2010.  For some, 2010 seems a long way off…for others, it seems just around the corner.  As a team, we still have some work ahead of us, but our goal is attainable with your help and continued hard work.

Thank you all for what you do and for the important role you play in keeping Kansas safe from disease.  Together we can make our 2010 goal become reality!
