Using vital records, the Office of Health Assessment computes teenage pregnancy totals and rates for the state and individual counties.  Teenage pregnancies include the sum of live births, reported abortions and fetal deaths.  The teenage pregnancy rate is the sum of teenage pregnancies divided by the number of women in the age-group, multiplied by 1,000.  Individual county information can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate county on the map below.  Please note that this summary is a rather large HTML page and may take longer to download on computers with slower modems.  However, once downloaded this page contains information for all counties.

When evaluating the rates contained in these summaries, please remember that rates based on a small or large number of events in sparsely populated areas can vary widely. Click here to review the Center for Health and Environmental Statistics Rate Reliability Statement for further information.
