A TTY, also known as a TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf), is an electronic device for text communication via a telephone line used when one or more of the parties has hearing or speech difficulties.
HealthQuest services are available to TTY users as follows:
EAP Services: 1-800-697-0353
Tobacco Cessation Program: 1-877-777-6534
All Other HealthQuest Programs : 1-888-277-1543
When a TTY user dials either of these numbers from their TTY machine, the receiving party answers the TTY and types instead of talks. If one of the parties does not have a TTY machine, a message relay service is reached and the caller then provides the relay operator with the number he/she wants dialed. The operator will use a TTY to make the call and act as an interpreter, typing the hearing person's message into the TTY and reading the response to him/her as it returns.
