Welcome to the home page of the Kansas Health Alert Network (HAN). The Health Alert Network is part of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Bioterrorism Planning and Response effort. CDC provides funding for the HAN as part of an effort to create nationwide, integrated information and communications system.

The Health Alert Network supports: Preparedness planning Disease surveillance and epidemiologic investigation Electronic laboratory test reporting Emergency communications, and Professional workforce training.

The reason for creating a Health Alert Network is to ensure that health departments are prepared to respond to bioterrorism incidents by supporting and offering training and information. In case of an incident the HAN will ensure that health care providers and emergency responders can communicate rapidly and easily. For a national perspective on the Health Alert Network visit the CDC’s HAN Homepage and its companion Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response site.
