Geographic Regions in Kansas

Comment: The trends observed in Kansas were reflected in much of the U.S., with heaviest flu-like activity occurring between late November and early January.

During the 1996/1997 flu season, January showed the highest percentage of deaths due to pneumonia and influenza. Over 92% of deaths due to pneumonia/influenza during this period were among people aged 65 and over.
