Kansas Breast and Cervical Cancer
Conference Held in Wichita April 7-8, 2005
Cancer Survivors as well as partners and providers of Early Detection Works came together for two exciting days to learn about the latest in cancer treatment and issues surrounding treatment and survivorship.
This conference was co-sponsored by the Mid-Kansas Affiliate, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Early Detection Works, a program of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Dr. Linda Berhansstipanov, MSPH. DrPH, BPHI, gave the keynote presentation, "From Survivorship to Thrivership." She is currently Executive Director of the Native American Research Center in Pine, Colorado.
Peggy Johnson, Vice President, Mid-Kansas Affiliate, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, presents Janet Neff, Director of the Cancer Control Program for KDHE, an award for her dedication and leadership in helping the women of Kansas through the Early Detection Works Program. |
Roy Jensen, MD, Director, Kansas Masonic Cancer Research Institute, University of Kansas Medical Center, provided an overview of the latest in breast cancer research. |
