Healthy Families Services
Program Purpose
Bureau of Family Health (BFH) receives targeted funding from the Kansas legislature to provide services to low-income and high-risk families in Geary and Wyandotte counties with disparate populations and high infant mortality rates for comprehensive public health nursing services utilizing the Olds and Omaha models of intensive nursing case management. These two counties have infant mortality rates nearly three times greater than the general Kansas population.
Funding
Applications for funding to support Healthy Families Services should be submitted for continuation of current contracts only. Award amounts are contingent on State General funding availability allocated for this initiative.
