The Implement phase is the testing ground for
all of the hard work that has gone into the plan.
Areas of Focus during this phase:
1) Acquire funding to conduct the activities
through either in-kind donations or actual financial support.
2)
Acquire sufficient staffing and provide training as needed to
conduct the chosen activities.
3) Acquire any needed equipment and
materials needed to conduct the activities.
4) Conduct marketing
and public relation events to ensure the success of the activities.
5)
Identify in-kind contributions from partner organizations and
individual member skills.
What to look for when...
- The implementation process is going well :
- There is adequate staff and facilities to meet the demand.
- A demand has been created.
- Adequate funding has been received to meet the demand.
- The implementation process is not going as planned:
- Money spent to conduct activities does not equal the benefits
received.
- Desired behavior change was not achieved.
- Anticipated attendance levels are low or nonexistent.
Evaluation Measures for Implement Phase:
It is important to take time to assess your success at this level
before moving on to the evaluation of all phases. This involves
process evaluation.
Process evaluation is assuring that you
are doing what you said you were going to do in the way you planned
to do it and in the timeframe you projected. In the simplest form,
the question you are asking yourself is "Did we accomplish what we intended
to accomplish as stated in the work plan?" Process evaluation during
this phase may include monitoring and tracking the following:
- Number of planned activities implemented by the designated
partner(s) as stated in the plan.
- Number of planned media hits that were implemented.
- Number of staff trainings provided that met the activity needs.
The Evaluate phase is the Impact evaluation of
the Implement phase.
Implement Conclusion:
The Implement phase assures that all resources
have been identified and are in place for successful achievement
of the planned activities.
