Community Health Intervention
Program (CHIPr) is working with local communities to develop skills
at the local level to address health problems. Health problems
develop and exist within communities. The community members are
best able to identify the problem and potential solutions.
If the
community does not identify the problem and work toward a solution,
it is unlikely to be solved. The CHIPr model was designed by
working with local communities to identify what steps should be
taken to help groups of individuals improve the health status of
their own communities.
Funding for this project is provided by Kansas
Health Foundation, Wichita, Kansas. Kansas Health Foundation
is a philanthropic organization whose mission is to improve the
quality of health in Kansas.
