Perinatal Community Collaboratives

Welcome to the Kansas Perinatal Community Collaboratives website!

Communities across the state are implementing comprehensive programming aimed at improving maternal and infant health. Local programs utilize the March of Dimes Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien® prenatal education curriculum (available in English and Spanish). Becoming a MomThe program model brings together prenatal education and clinical care to assure coordinated services and supports for pregnant women and their families. Results show women who participate in the program gain knowledge, make healthier choices, and are more likely to deliver a healthy baby.

The Kansas program model has been implemented and expanded by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program in partnership with the March of Dimes Kansas Chapter.
