Mission

The Bureau of Health Facilities licenses and/or certifies medical care facilities ( i.e. hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers) and non long-term-care entities (i.e. licensed only as well as certified home health agencies, rural health clinics, OPPT, ESRD’s, hospice providers and mobile x-ray). Its programs exist to assure quality care through two primary means -- establishing licensing standard and inspecting facilities to assure these standards are being met.
