Use Assessment Analysis SectionThis section participates in KDHE's water quality standards program by performing assessments of the existing and attainable designated uses of streams. These assessments are called Use Attainability Analysis (UAA) surveys. A UAA survey is performed according to defined protocols to determine if a surface water (stream, lake, wetland) is capable of supporting one or more of the designated uses as defined in the Kansas Surface Water Standards (K.A.R. 28-16-28d(a)). This section is also responsible with revising the Kansas Surface Water Register and the Kansas Surface Water Quality Standards (K.A.R. 28-16-28d et seq.) to reflect the findings of UAA surveys.
