I wish to thank the Lawrence Memorial Hospital for conducting an
excellent seminar by excellent instructors on various medical problems and in my case
Arthritis.
The arthritis seminar met for two hours each Monday for 6 weeks
and I felt I knew so little about the disease, which is usually present in old age and
sometimes sooner.
When I went to my first session I really didn’t know what to
expect for six 2- hour sessions. Each meeting followed a chapter or two or three from the book
“The Arthritis Help Book” 5 th Edition.
When I first started reading the chapters assigned, I had grave doubts that
I would see any change in the way I felt from the affects of pain and stiffness to my knees, hips
and back that I had been experiencing for two years and getting worse. So I decided that I would
give the seminar my best effort.
To make a long story brief, I continued on for the six-week sessions and to
my amazement I began to feel better each week both physically and mentally thanks to good
instructors and a well written text and the illustrators instructions and expert advise for
physical and mental well being.
I can honestly say that the knowledge I received from the course made me
feel like a different person knowing that I can now cope with the pain from arthritis and perform
various exercises with my body.
For me one of the most important things I learned from the course was how to
use my mind to cope with pain by freeing my mind from all negative thoughts and concentrating on
the positive which makes the pain less and more tolerable to live with.
To use the mind for the positive thoughts and to eliminate the negative
thoughts was not easy, but through concentration and meditation and working at it each and every
day the positive increases each and every day the pain from the negative decreases each and every
day.
In addition, learning about mind control from the seminar will be a most
valuable asset to use when I have other problems in my future life.
I now feel 100% better physically and mentally than I did 6 weeks ago and for
that I am eternally grateful.
